Texas Health Resources PHARMACY TECH PRN (Cancer Center) in Dallas, Texas

Qualifications/Duties:

**Please note that this position does require travel to various entities throughout the DFW metroplex.

PRN technician will cover PTO and sick leave at two THD infusion clinic pharmacies: Arlington Cancer Center and Plano Cancer Center. PRN technician will need to have thorough knowledge of IV room skills. Oncology experience is highly preferred.

HOURS:

Facility is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

PRN (as needed) schedule will only be between Monday- Friday 8am -5pm.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma/GED.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

None

PREFERRED:

One year relevant experience. ACPE pharmacy technician training program, ACPE Intravenous Certification. Microsoft Office skills.

3 years IV experience with Oncology experience Highly Preferred.

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION:

Active pharmacy technician registration status, with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or Nationally registered through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or within 90 days of hire registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

SKILLS:

Must be computer literate, proficient in typing, able to perform basic mathematic calculations, able to read, speak and communicate effectively in English, directly, or over the telephone, with all employees and customers.

DUTIES:

*Candidates may also be required to float to on-site Retail Pharmacy.

Prepares doses for dispensing, labeling

Provides assistance for customers and patients

Compounds

Maintains inventory

  1. Pharmacy technologies

Utilizes pharmacy information system to assist in patient care

Completes pharmacy charging

Completes required daily quality assurance documentation, and continues to improve ones own accuracy

Follows departmental policies and procedures
