Interstate Batteries Project Manager - Testing in Dallas, Texas

The role of the project manager is to plan, execute and finalize projects on time and within budget for the Testing and Charging programs. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and vendors in order to deliver projects according to plan, while working with the NAC (National Accounts) customer segment and Testing/Charging team to strategize and prioritize projects. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, detail oriented, has excellent communication skills and thrives in a fast paced environment.

  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

  • Help develop and manage testing reporting needs for key NACs in coordination with NAC Analytics team.

  • Communicate and coordinate with project stakeholders, continually managing expectations.

  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools, while tracking to project deliverables.

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.

  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them accordingly throughout project life cycle.

  • Attend key NAC meetings in combination with the account manager and NAC Marketing as necessary. Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent

  • 2-3 years of experience in product or project management, experience in electronic devices, automotive industry or testing equipment a plus

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

  • Advanced personal computer and must be technically proficient with respect to MS Word and PowerPoint, with an emphasis on Excel and Access

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information, with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage, develop, and launch 5 or more projects at a time, under time-sensitive deadlines

  • Business professional with excellent verbal, computer and written communication skills, including experience making presentations to management

  • Solid meeting facilitation skills with experience in leading diverse team environments

  • Ability to develop action and contingency plans, while identifying and organizing resource requirements within multiple project priorities

  • Team player with the ability to focus on both individual and corporate goals and objectives

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
