Job Description1st shift position Starting at $12/hr or based on experience GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform sanitation and equipment set up duties on the production line as required by the Standard Operating Procedures and Supervisor direction.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:- Disassemble production filling equipment (remove fill valves, cylinders, hopper, and supply hoses) using hand tools. - Clean and sanitize production filling equipment following -Production Clean and Sanitization- SOP-s. (i.e., 180 degree water, sanitizer, etc.) using prescribed chemicals. - Reassemble and set up production filling equipment (replace fill valves, cylinders, hopper, supply hoses) using hand tools. - Set up production lines for specific products (adjust fill volume, set cap height, set date code, and rail width). - Connect product tanks with production supply lines by hand. - Troubleshoot and repair production equipment (fillers, pumps, tanks, valves, cappers, conveyors, etc.).- Maintain production equipment per SOP-s and Machine Manuals.- Operate packaging machinery (i.e., turn production lines on and off using the on/off switch, select appropriate program on filler and adjust target fill weight, and ensure that the appropriate fill weight is selected for the appropriate product) per SOP-s and Machine Manuals. - Clean packaging area and equipment as directed (using chemicals, spray hose, etc.)- Use company approved personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for various tasks.- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work.- All other duties as assigned.Marginal Job Functions:- Assist Production Maintenance Technicians as needed.- Assist Packaging Engineer with new packaging as needed.- Assist Production Workers with manufacturing as needed.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:- Mechanical ability.- Knowledge of setting up and repairing transfer pumps and filling machines. - Ability to read and write English instructions, reports, equipment manufacturer instructions and requirements. - Ability to use simple math to measure fill speed, fill rate, etc. - Good communication skills.- Grasp, manipulate and use hand tools. - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:- Lift up to 35 pounds from the floor level to shoulder height or vice versa.- Stand for up to three hours at a time. - Visual acuity to see set up, recognize problems and troubleshoot.- Good eye/hand coordination. - Dexterity skills to use hand tools, such as wrench, pliers, sockets, wrenches, socket sets, screwdrivers, etc.- Sit, bend, squat, reach, pull, twist, and turn. - Reach forward and overhead.- Able to use cleaning chemicals.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:- High school diploma or GED.- Previous manual labor work experience.- Previous equipment maintenance work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
