IBM Senior Capital Assets Accountant in DALLAS, Texas

• Entering fixed assets monthly additions, transfers, and disposals. Monthly close processes for fixed asset accounts assuring timely and accurate reconciliation of worldwide balance sheet accounts.• Responsibilities include but not limited to: posting journal entries, performing internal controls such as reviews and reconciliations, performing account analysis, and assisting with month end fixed asset reporting.• Maintain and balance Fixed Asset general ledger and subsidiary ledger, verifying and reconciling transactions. Resolve any discrepancy during the reconciliation process• Interface with Operations team to ensure complete transactional and operational efficiency at all times• Prepare and analyze monthly fixed asset activities including:1. Fixed asset related journal entries in general ledger and loading to the separate subsidiary ledger2. Record monthly depreciation and perform analysis of depreciation reasonableness3. Capital expenditure reporting4. Fixed Asset rollforward5. Fixed asset spending versus budget comparison reporting• Work with auditors on all fixed asset related items• Standardization of fixed asset accounting processes and tools across the organization, promoting best practices within the finance/accounting functions.CLDSFT5K

• 5-7 years’ experience in progressive accounting-based or general ledger roles; exposure to fixed assets is required• Knowledge and experience in US GAAP including chart of accounts, journal entries, balance sheets, and reconciliations• Four-year degree in accounting, business or a related field• Experience working with internal and external auditors• Must show history of superb detail-orientation managing hundreds of lines of data
