The Solution Execution team within SAP Custom Development is chartered with executing custom development projects and related services, where success is measured by effectively leveraging our ability to deliver those projects on-time, on-budget and with superior quality. As part of the SE team, the Senior Project Manager CD is responsible for successful delivery of an assigned CD project or FBS development project throughout the entire life cycle (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, closing) and for all knowledge areas of project management (integration, scope, time, cost, quality, HR, communications, risk, procurement). The Senior PM CD is experienced to manage highly complex, high risk profile projects or in general very challenging assignments, and is taking leadership for the attainment of the goals of the assigned CD project or FBS development.
Manage both internal and external projects as assigned and ensure adherence to the SAP Custom Development Methodology for large scale and high complexity software development projects and possibly managing multiple projects concurrently.

Build strong relationships at every level of the organization and a strong motivator who knows how to influence and to get others to consistently deliver their best work.
Set-up and maintain the Governance Model for projects and programs.
Prepare realistic cost budgets and timing estimates for development projects, including detailed, client ready project plans, identifying milestones, resources and timelines.
Proactively manage program stakeholder satisfaction to position and secure a customer reference and success story.
Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change.
Utilize all CD-relevant toolsets for managing project status.
Monitor project performance and risk status; identify variances to plan; escalate to management as appropriate; take or suggest corrective action as required.
Ensure visibility and transparency of project results, financial and risk compliance.
Over-achieving of CD based business metrics (inclusive of Margin, Revenue, Profit, Utilization, Innovation, and Client Satisfaction).
Manage communications and expectations with customers at all times. Communicate expectations to team members and follow-up to ensure expectations are met.
Build credibility / trust with assigned (regional) customers and project teams during the project execution.
Demonstrate ability to manage diverse internal / external issues in highly political environments.
Report on project progress to customer and SAP Custom Development management team.
Ensure all client sign-offs and acceptances are completed successfully.
Act in a distributed development environment managing work packages across multiple locations.
Work closely with internal SAP, external partners and customer teams to ensure successful project completion. Handle legal aspects and ensure customer satisfaction.
Be a multiplier of your skills by actively mentoring other resources within the team.
Continually enhance existing skills and seek new areas for personal development.
Contribute actively to Project Management excellence and Best Practices at SAP Custom Development.
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree highly desirable, preferably in a related discipline.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, required within one year of hire.
Work Experience / Skills
Requires 5 years of professional PM experience.
Project management of SAP implementations and/or SAP Custom Development experience are a prerequisite.
Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum projects.
Excellent communication skills, including written and oral; with the ability to present to large groups with confidence.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence without authority.

- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (overall travel typically not more than 40%, but can be 90%).
