Sr. Manufacturing Engineer I/II Raytheon Precision Manufacturing (RPM) is a leader in high precision mechanical product manufacturing. RPM is experiencing growth with primary focus in the defense and aerospace markets. Reporting to a Raytheon Precision Manufacturing Engineering Manager at the Lemmon Avenue site in Dallas, the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for Producibility efforts, driving engineering changes, fixture design approaches and methods supporting complex high precision metal part machining, assembly and inspection. This position will include: Working safely every day and supporting efforts to maintain an injury free work place. Defining and establishing metal part manufacturing processes that are cost effective and meet all quality requirements. Changing and improving processes to increase productivity and competitiveness. Close interaction with personnel responsible for NC programming, inspection equipment programming, machining, assembly, tool design and methodization. Day to day interaction with Raytheon and external company employees including: all levels of Precision Manufacturing management, design engineers, supply chain, fabrication and process engineering. Meeting cost & schedule commitments while maintaining the utmost standards for quality. Promoting a spirit of cooperation and following company policies. Required skills: At least 6 years’ direct experience, 15 years preferred, establishing cost effective production methods in a machined component manufacturing environment. History of production planning of metal products including: work instruction generation, fixture requirements, process flow analysis and generation of labor estimates. Candidate must be proficient at reading and understanding written shop processes, engineering blueprints, engineering change notices, work instructions, procedures and routers and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing Solid understanding of fixture design requirements (i.e. datums, clamping, cutting forces, wear, etc.) and fabrication. Strong knowledge of machining, assembly and inspection processes for complex, tight toleranced 5-axis machined parts. Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with machinists, support groups, customers, and management Demonstrated problem solving ability in resolving complex problems arising during the fabrication process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements Prior experience with CAD/CAM software. Highly competent and trustworthy. Sincere relationship management skills are a must. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills The ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Security clearance not required prior to start. Desired skills: 15 years of related experience. Experience with any of the following software systems/tools: JDEdwards or SAP, Siemens NX or Pro-Engineer/Creo. Experience with complex casting development process. Experience in tolerance analysis and stackup. Experience in welded fabrication techniques Required Education: B.S. in Engineering Desired Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering This position can be Salary Grade E03 Sr Manufacturing Engineer I or a Salary Grade E04 Sr Manufacturing Engineer II based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for the position. 87617
