Strategic Accounts Director - GPO

The Strategic Accounts Director of Group Purchasing Organizations will be responsible for selling, promoting, and delivering Omnicell Automation solutions and services to Group Purchasing Organizations ‘participating members. They will also be responsible for GPO contract negotiations and contract management. Strategic Accounts Director GPOs will work with internal Omnicell partners to create and update GPO specific marketing and sales strategies and GPO specific sales materials. The Strategic Accounts Director for GPO’s will work with Finance and IT to generate and mange new and existing GPO market sales data analytic tools and reports. Lastly, the Strategic Accounts Director of GPOs will work with field sales and strategic accounts sales on joint sales and marketing strategies and initiatives.

Essential Functions:

As a Director of Group Purchasing Organizations, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key GPO personnel to manage, promote and secure favorable contracts

  • help structure corporate contracts

  • determine product offerings

  • determine pricing, discounts and customized value-adds

  • Initiate multi-level internal and external strategies to convert or grow business within assigned GPOs

  • Gain clear understanding of the customer’s needs and expectations to maximize Omnicell’s value offering

  • Conduct regular business reviews and site visits as needed

  • Collaborate with the Omnicell field sales leadership on the development and implementation of the GPO specific strategy

  • Execute Corporate strategy and develop synergistic integration with target specific goals and objectives

  • Develop and demonstrate an understanding of Omnicell’s value proposition, competitive tactics, contractual elements and the unique characteristics associated with GPOs

  • Help Marketing personnel create and update educational materials specific to assigned GPOs.

  • Help Marketing create and update marketing materials specific to assigned GPOs.

  • Work with Senior Director, Strategic Accounts on key projects and initiatives to refine company strategy around increasing GPO penetration/effectivity

  • Lead special projects as identified and approved by senior leadership

  • Report as required to the Senior Director, National Accounts and Executive Staff on GPO progress, over-arching strategy , field messaging, alignment with division/company goals, impact, and areas for improvement

  • Work closely with Divisional leadership to insure alignment and accountability

  • Work closely with Marketing to develop targeted approach and develop appropriate materials/tools

  • Communicate and implement GPO Strategic Plans and associated tactics with field sales organization

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 2+ years of a proven track record of strategic analysis/creative problem solving

  • 5+ years’ experience in Capital Medical Sales

  • 2+ years negotiating and implementing GPO contracts and/or national accounts

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • 2 + years of experience with contracting and national account

  • Demonstrated commitment to building strong business relationships with the customer at the Group Purchasing Organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with field and internal team members to achieve corporate goals

Work Conditions:

  • Office Environment

  • 50% travel domestically
