Job Summary:

Unique and exciting opportunities await qualified applicants who join EY’s growing Partner of the Firm (POF) Tax Group!

We are a specialized practice dedicated to serving the individual tax compliance needs of EY’s US based partners. There are no sales pressures or sales goals in our group. We retain our annuity work and earn new work (newly promoted partners and direct admits) by providing exceptional client service to our existing client base.

Our staff is on-site and 100% dedicated to POF. Although career progression definitely exists, we do not have an up or out staffing model. Should you desire to remain a senior, manager or senior manager for a long-term, that is possible in POF!

We also currently offer four locations (San Diego, Tampa, Akron and Dallas), all of which work seamlessly together using EY’s technology and a streamlined, unified process.

The ideal candidate will possess a love of individual tax compliance and exceptional teamwork skills.


  • Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to master increasingly complex tax concepts.
  • Demonstrate some technical tax skills, and effectively apply tax knowledge to client situations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Federal and State tax.
  • Provide high-quality client service.
  • Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.
  • Support special projects
  • Build on technical competencies by keeping current on trends, developments and technical authorities, while applying them to complex situations.
  • Help to develop and guide staff by providing effective performance feedback, and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and goals.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery.

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • A bachelor's degree and approximately three years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately three years of related work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of individual tax experience
  • A valid US CPA, OR progress toward CPA, or JD certification
  • General knowledge of tax laws with specialized knowledge in the individual tax area
  • Excellent supervisory, analytical, and leadership ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A commitment to learning in a tax technology environment
  • Proficient knowledge of automated tax processing systems and Microsoft Office tools
