The candidate can expect to perform design trade studies, define requirements and develop power specifications, develop power electronic and analog designs. This person will also assist in performing IR&D and roadmaps, as well as playing a role in proposal development and customer reviews. Occasional travel will be required. Required Skills: - Knowledge and desire to specialize in power electronics topologies, components (magnetics, PWM, supervisory, analog circuit design and components, power transistors and rectifiers). - Experience with / Working knowledge of PSPICE, schematic capture, and PWB layout software packages. - Experience with / knowledge of EMI design issues. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. - Experience in power electronics test equipment, lab procedures, and test methodologies. - Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying) - Must be able to obtain an DOD Secret security clearance Desired Skills: - Ability to work with outside customers, perform technical reviews, and participate with other engineers and technicians in technical execution of programs. - Working knowledge of MathCad, Project, and Mentor Graphics Expedition/DxDesigner. - Interest in higher-end simulation tools such as Ansoft Maxwell and PExpert. - Working knowledge of thermal and environmental design issues and methods, as well as design for reliability, manufacturability, and assembly. - Experience with Low cost design for production. - Working knowledge digital electronics as digital controllers of power electronics becomes more prevalent.
