Toyota’s IT Talent Management Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Consultant – Vendor Relations – CTO & Security.

The primary responsibility of the Consultant – Vendor Relations – CTO & Security is oversight of the IT vendor relationships for vendors providing services to the Chief Technology Officer and Security organizations. The ideal team member will provide the guidance to the internal and vendor leadership teams that is necessary to help our vendors deliver the most business value to these teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • Oversees the vendor engagements for the teams reporting to the CTO, including the Consumer Portal Delivery team, and the Security team

  • Collaborate with the management team for each assigned functional area to ensure vendor engagements are aligned with their unique needs including conducing contract reviews, renewals and amendments

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors providing services to the assigned functional area including helping the teams with identification and selection of new vendors (as appropriate), performing pricing reviews and assisting with the RFP process

  • Assist the teams with finding common ground with our vendors on issues of pricing and performance

  • Provide guidance to the teams on good vendor management practices and promote a healthy engagement with the vendors, focusing on obtaining the best value from our engagement

  • Develop and deliver effective executive level communication regarding vendor engagements

What you bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated functional work experience in vendor management with a preference for managing vendor engagements for software maintenance and/or development

  • High-level communication skills to influence and persuade others

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management

Added bonus if you have:

  • MBA and IT related work experience

  • Experience with software maintenance and/or development

  • PMP Certification
