Manufacturing Team Leader - 1st Shift

The Lead Valve Repair Technician will provide leadership and guidance for all activities in the valve repair process. Lead Valve Repair Technician must be skilled and understand the purpose and principles of operating pressure relief and/or control valves. In this role, you will be responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing, adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, trouble shooting, inspection and replacement of safety and relief valves.
In the role of Manufacturing Team Leader - 1st Shift you will:
Provide direction and assistance to valve production personnel
Supervise his / her work force crew, providing training and guidance
Ensure personnel have applicable tools, procedures, etc. to complete required tasks
Maintain status on all work orders, reporting to foreman or production manager
Ensure all work performed is in compliance with AAR, GBW and customer procedures
Monitor and evaluate employee performance
Ensure all EHS rules are followed; maintaining all work areas in a clean and orderly condition
Promote and exhibit an attitude of teamwork with all employees
Assemble new safety relief valves to National Board V & UV Code
Repair used safety relief valves to National Board VR Code
Read and interpret manufacturers drawings and spring charts
Machine nozzles, discs and associated parts to OEM specifications
Perform measurements with: dial calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
Apply advanced math skills to verify critical dimensions
Perform machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs
Perform valve write-ups including: Nameplate data, Guide and nozzle ring settings, and spring number
Pressure and leak test valve to National Board and ASME standards
Valve testing with EVT
Provide account manager support by phone and email
Complete preventative maintenance on department equipment
Perform other duties as required
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
Minimum 5 years of pressure relief valve assembly or repair experience
Ability and willingness to work on-call, overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
Ability and willingness to work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
Ability and willingness to be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
Ability and willingness to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability and willingness to be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
Ability and willingness to read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings / prints and procedure manuals
Ability and willingness to work inside and outside, as required
Ability and willingness to work extended periods of mental concentration working with mechanical and electrical equipment requiring constant safety focus
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Working knowledge of National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
