Texas Heath Denton is seeking a Radiology Manager

Full Time: 40 hours per week

Monday - Friday 7:00a - 3:30p

Minimum Education Requirements:

ARRT / ASRT accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Associates Degree Required

Bachelors Degree preferred

Minimum Licensure / Certification Requirements:

ARRT(R), MRT, CPR

Minimum Experience Requirements:

Required - 5 years of Radiology Tech experience

Preferred - 2 years of Supervisory experience

Minimum Skill Requirements:

Management, excellent communication, and Microsoft Office

State Radiology Inspections, ACR Accreditation,

Joint Commission inspections preferred

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job reports to Director of Medical and W omen's Imaging Services

Number of Direct Reports: 30-40

Management of Daily Department Activities

Uses behavior events interviewing method for interviews and selections of new employees.

•Establishes systematic work-flow and communication among all areas of radiology, and ensures adequate coverage of all shifts including vacation schedules, absenteeism and turnover.

•Supervises all aspect of the department's operation in the absence of the Director.

•Works in conjunction with modality team leaders to update radiology policy and procedure manuals, emergency and Disaster plans.

•Evaluates and updates all department job descriptions, conducts and reviews performance appraisal processes.

The appropriate candidate is matched with position.

•Staff is evaluated to maintain hospital and department standards of care.

Operation effectiveness is achieved.

•Seamless customer service is provided.

•Staff is aware of plans and able to implement procedures.

•Job description is matched with current job requirements or standard of practice, and staff development plan is completed.

Purchasing and Financial Responsibilities

•Plans, initiates and approves all equipment service, purchase requisitions and invoices

•Coordinates, processes, and analyzes equipment CER requests

•Establishes and manages tracking mechanisms for cost analysis all department spending

•Assists with using financial and material resources, prepares monthly statistical reports, projects patient volumes and forecasts revenue and expenses

Quality of services is enhanced and billing is accurate.

•The CER request is processed efficiently.

•Audit trail of all spending in the department and ensures that it meets budgetary guidelines

•Resources are efficiently and effectively utilized

Arranges for service of equipment, monitors the suitability of repairs, and verifies documentation of equipment service report.

•Liaises with service companies to ensure routine equipment maintenance are completed.

•Ensures that standards of practice, technical quality, technique charts or protocols, patient and PACS documentation are correct.

•Ensures compliance with EPA, JCAHO, OSHA, TDH, and hospital and department standards for safety, infection control, department aesthetics and equipment performance.

•Liaises with regulatory inspectors during their inspection of the department.

Equipment is repaired in a timely manner and repeats problems are followed up and trended.

•Safe operation of all radiographic equipment and film processors are ensured.

•Patient documentation is complete and accurate in HIS / RIS and PACS.

•QC records, technique charts or protocols, personnel records and equipment records are all up to date and ready for inspection.

•Compliance of regulatory requirements are ensured.

Manages the Performance Improvement Process

•Establishes, designs and monitors quality measurement activities for both patient related and technical quality control.

•Reviews technical standards on a regular basis and recommends changes as appropriate.

•Compiles and presents data from quality assurance programs as requested by Director.

•Identifies and recommends performance improvements.

•Investigates complaints, Situation and Unusual Occurrence reports regarding patient care utilizing age specific criteria

•Cooperates and coordinates with other managers in facilitating communication flow and procedures between technical, clerical, support staff, students and other departments.

•Plans, coordinates and supervises projects including renovations

•Addresses processes/issues and contributes to a department stop-light report that is kept to focus on priority issues.

•Rounds and observes unsafe systems and accidents waiting to happen.

•Address at risk and reckless behavior regardless of outcome, using the algorithm correctly.

•Refrains from prejudging an individual prior to investigation.

•Intervenes in rumors and bullying behavior by staff.

•Promotes a culture of open communication and trust.

•Promotes good catches and a culture of safe reporting for employees.

•Conducts leadership listening rounds with assigned employees and follows through.

•Clarifies performance expectations with staff addressing breeches as they occur.

Oversees orientation, training and cross-training of new staff to department, assesses their ability to work independently, and communicates policies and procedures to staff

•Implements and monitors performance evaluation procedures, establishes professional development goals, and counsels staff on an ongoing basis as appropriate

Staff is trained appropriately and competency evaluated before working independently.

Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement.

•Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email.

•Identifies, troubleshoots and initiates quality improvement.

•Manages time and re-prioritizes as necessary.
