JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for the management of the flow of inventory from the supplier into the Division. This is accomplished through the detailed analysis of demand and the management of Purchase Orders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Monitor and maintain demand forecasting.
Analyze historical usage and forecasting reports to ensure a proper demand data for automated systems.
Manage promotion sales history and analyze and adjust forecast to ensure customer demand is met.
Monitor and analyze historical sales information to create future forecasting trends for ongoing items.
Provide reasonable check for promotional forecasting information, from Chain Management team.
Communicate vendor issues encountered in the execution phase of promotions to Chain Management team.
Place and monitor purchase orders utilizing system reports with the purpose of maximizing in-stock level, while maintaining minimum inventory exposure and balancing freight costs.
Develop and execute product allocation plans when needed to insure supply to all divisions during vendor shortages or product recalls.
Seek opportunities to Partner with other Division functions to maximize operating targets.
Optimize receiving, storage, picking, and loading operations.
Maintain inventory levels to minimize obsolescence spoilage.
Coordinate with transportation group to optimize backhauls.
Utilize production and inventory management concepts (i.e. pipeline fill, lead times, contingency planning, ordering parameters) to improve the inventory and service levels of the divisions.
Utilize logistics principles (freight sourcing, transit times, FTL vs. LTL vs. rail, freight terms), to reduce freight costs and identify areas of additional income.
Manage inter-division issues such as; transfers, allocations, and quality issues.
Monitor and analyze performance indicators such as; in-stock levels, perfect order performance, inventory levels, inter-division transfer costs, and obsolescence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A teammate in this position must:
Have 2-4 years of related work experience.
Have a bachelor's degree preferred.
Have detailed knowledge of specialized commodities may be required.
Have strong commitment to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Be able to influence others.
Have previous MRP/DRP system experience.
Have strong spreadsheet/database skills.
Be able to quickly and effectively learn new systems.
