Kforce Systems Administrator in Euless, Texas

Kforce has a client in Euless, TX, seeking a System Administrator.Essential Functions:The System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the technical infrastructure as required to meet business needs with little or no supervision. This would include proactive software updates and patching as well software refresh/maintenance. In addition, this position is responsible to support high level as well as departmental projects. Such projects include, but are not limited to e-mail, application virtualization, remote access, file and print services, Active Directory, as well as dispatch, payroll, accounting and sales programs. The System Administrator will work closely with other members of the technology department to support all end users.Duties Include:

  • Provide technical support and maintenance of I.T. systems

  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with system configurations and hardware

  • Provide escalation support for the Service Desk and Desktop Support Teams

  • Performs server hardware and server software maintenance functions such as firmware upgrades, installing software service packs and configuring enhancements

  • Maintains system security including operating system security patches and virus defense

  • Performs system administration functions such as Active Directory maintenance, DNS changes, granting server permissions, server log management, email system administration, print queue management, and web server support

  • Maintain standardization and documentation of technology and processes

  • Monitors performance, capacity and operational statistics for operating systems, applications and servers including e-mail systems, file and print systems, virus defense, web services and remote access

  • Installs system software and hardware for operating systems, applications and servers including, but not limited to, e-mail systems, file and print systems, anti-virus, web services and remote access

  • Two-year degree in Information Technology or equivalent vocational field is preferred

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical people

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Certification as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Server Infrastructure, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Server Administrator\Enterprise Administrator or Microsoft equivalent is required

  • At least four years in departmental application support and administration (e.g. Web applications, administration of .Net Applications and SQL/Oracle based applications)

  • Network experience preferred

  • UNIX experience preferred
