D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a *Assistant Wildlife Ranch Manager *for their Ranch Department. The right candidate will work with Ranch Manager to oversee and manage active breeding and hunting on the ranch. Monitor animal populations, control nuisance animals, habitat manipulation, and conduct hunting in the healthiest way for the hunted animal’s population. Complete and maintain documentation, prepare reports, and be knowledgeable on federal and state wildlife regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Manage inventory of feed, nutrients and medical supplies necessary to maintain healthy wildlife.
- Ensure animals are properly cared for by monitoring food and water sources. Inspect animals for disease, illness and injuries.
- Responsible for preparing financial, ranch and wildlife management reports.
- Visit fields to inspect and estimate grazing potential.
- Inspect fences and barriers for dangerous situations that might cause injuries to wildlife.
- Assist with hunting safety program.
This job will supervise Wildlife Management Intern(s).
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
