Minimum Requirements – Education:

Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Radiology Technology

Minimum Requirements – Experience:

0 - 6 months in CT

Prefer exp. in hospital setting

Computer skills, communication skills to include speaking and understanding English language, excellent customer service skills.

Prefer venipuncture

Hours/Schedule Information: Full Time, (40 Hrs/Wk), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6a -4p, call required

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Patient Care

  1. Preparation of exam room for patient exam (i.e. linen, injector, supplies etc.)

  2. Check Physician orders, exam requisition, provide appropriate reason and relevant clinical information for exam using patient's chart/Care Connect and relay to Radiologist.

  3. Research PACS for examination history and previous exams.

  4. Obtains patient history, symptoms, and appropriate labs relating to exam.

  5. Adheres to hygiene standards by sanitizing hands before and after any patient contact. Also, sanitizes hands throughout examination when appropriate

  6. Greets and acknowledges patient using two forms of ID comparing patient ID armband to exam requisition to identify correct patient/exam.

  7. Appropriately handles IV, O2, chest tubes, urine bags, and other patient devices

  8. Verifies patient pregnancy status in reference to appropriate exam/standards.

  9. Uses proper body mechanics to ensure safety to patient and staff.

  10. Adapts procedures to reflect age specific and developmental consideration along with any physical handicaps or hardships for specific needs of adaption for body habitus, patient relationship and communication styles.

  11. Communicates with patient, patient's family, and staff with proper etiquette within the hospital, on the phone, and with any electronic communication.

  12. Demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment, drugs, and preparedness in response to patient distress.

  13. Transports patient throughout department and hospital safely as needed.

  14. Safely administers contrast media and other medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.

Professional Accountability, Partnership, and Continuous Improvement

  1. Communicates with staff and other health care workers any issues that may affect patient safety and care.

  2. Uses THR philosophy to work in partnership with patients, families, coworkers and physicians

  3. Recognizes and communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication

  4. Flexible with schedules and workload assignments to the changing needs of the department and patient load

  5. Participates in department quality improvement processes.

  6. Attends and participates in department continuing education meetings and maintains licensures

  7. Checks hospital and departmental emails to stay current on customer and department service issues and to improve communication with all THR employees and entities.
