Systems Security Engineering (SSE) is responsible for coordinating with program development Product Teams to ensure that Air Vehicle systems are developed according to secure principles. The engineer in this position ensures that the Weapon System / Air System is designed, developed, and documented in a manner that supports required security C&A efforts. Serves as a coordination point for Systems Security topics that span multiple teams. Convenes and mediates technical discussions involving a broad spectrum of program teams and interests. Provides system security requirements allocation to design teams that are consistent with design concepts, architectures, modes, levels, and interfaces. In addition, the engineer in this position is responsible for producing and reviewing C&A documentation required to support program Certification efforts and Approval to Operate (ATO) decisions for F-16 and F-22 programs and projects, as well Advanced Development Program (ADP) efforts related to the F-16 and F-22.

The position requires the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of development teams, suppliers, and ADP personnel to achieve solutions. Documents with rationale, applicable ‘good practice’ security requirements that are traceable into development processes for hardware and software. Interprets, refines, resolve conflicts, and insures consistency across WS / AS security controls / policies. Provides design support documentation for all IA enabled COTS products used for the AV that require independent evaluation by the government. Generates and maintains the guidance criteria for software tools integrated into system software and system build environments. Analyzes software requirements, contributes during requirements and design reviews, creates high and low level software design documentation, develops software guideline updates, creates C&A plans for software implementation, and integration of software into system and build environments. Provides long term maintenance and updates for delivered software tools. Gives direction to engineers and works with individuals from various software development groups.

Frequent presentations and technical discussions with certification officials from the United States DoD agencies are required, therefore, the engineer in this position must have excellent presentation skills. This position also requires frequent written communication and document creation and the successful candidate must possess excellent written communication skills. Basic Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical field. *Experience in system security design and architecture. *Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
