Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer Associate in Fort Worth, Texas
This position is on the Integrated Fighter Group (IFG) Weapons System Requirements and Design (WSRD) team as a system design engineer. The WSRD team is responsible for developing the system requirements, design, and interfaces for the F-16 and F-22 programs. This avionics system design engineer will be exposed to Avionics architecture with emphasis in design and analysis of architecture and to all components of avionics (e.g., Communication, Navigation, Identification, Displays and Radio systems) as well as mission system (e.g., Core Processing, Sensor and Self-Protection) and weapon system components. This avionics system design engineer will support experienced technical leadership to ensure successful completion of the avionics design and integration.
This avionics system design engineer will learn to support suppliers in the development and integration of a cost effective avionics suite in a variety of air vehicles. Familiarity/experience with FAA certification process are considered a plus.
This avionics system design engineer will learn how to identify, quantify and track critical technical performance measures. This avionics system design engineer will learn how to define, plan and support analysis and trade studies to mitigate risk and identify alternative solutions. This avionics system design engineer must be willing to interface with subsystem suppliers to support architecture solution.
This avionics system design engineer will learn how to apply appropriate System Engineering Processes/Plans through all phases of a project. This avionics system design engineer will develop baseline requirements, manage risk, maintain a technical baseline, support the defining and managing trade studies, support configuration management, support technical planning and strategy processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience and/or strong desire to excel in any of the following knowledge domains: communication; navigation; displays; core processing; radar sensors; weapons and weapon launch zones, system/software security, or pilot-vehicle interface.
Basic Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical field. •Must be a US Citizen. This position will require a government security clearance.
