Tarrant County College District Title IX Compliance Officer in Fort Worth, Texas

Job Summary

The Title IX Program Coordinator is a full-time administrative position reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources/Title IX Coordinator. The Title IX Compliance Officer will work closely with the campus staff related to the College’s Title IX program to ensure compliance with Title IX obligations. This position will have primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day responsibilities associated with the College’s Title IX compliance obligations involving students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities related to case management include: receive and process inquiries and complaints from the campus community and third parties in a timely manner, providing a fair and neutral process for both the complainant and respondent

  • Develops and follows-up on case management plan for each reported Title IX incident involving students, faculty and staff; manage investigation plans for each Title IX complaint

  • Maintains a case management database to organize, manage, and track Title IX incidents and does monthly and annual reporting of Title IX cases district wide

  • Serves as a resource to staff who serve as deputy Title IX Coordinators, Title IX investigators, disciplinary hearing officers, appeals and adjudication hearing officers, and campus presidents, police, student groups, faculty and staff, and others groups as appropriate and needed

  • Responsible for collecting the relevant facts related to the reported Title IX incident and determining next steps consultations with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources

  • Monitors and manages Title IX incidents to ensure an efficient response to complaints including appeals of cases

  • Ensures consistency in the disciplinary process

  • Continuously identifies and integrates best practices in the Title IX investigation and case management process, climate, and advocate for improvements

  • Meets regularly with the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources/Title IX Coordinator to ensure that College policies, procedures, protocols, reports, and practices are in compliance with Title IX regulations

  • Collaborates with campus administrators to manage the interim safety measures and ensure that students are aware of their options and resources with respect to reporting and filing complaints alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault, and sexual misconduct

  • Provides information and training about Title IX process to faculty, staff, and students in order to comply with OCR mandates

  • Prepares annual statistical report on the number, nature and disposition of complaints. Identify patterns and make recommendations

  • Conducts climate surveys to better understand how frequently students experience sexual assault

  • Collaborates with other campus offices, as needed, to coordinate and execute in a timely manner the College’s response and investigation of complaints as pursuant to Title IX;

  • Develops, improves processes, best practices for grievances, appeal procedures, policies, and organize the grievance files, disposition reports, and other records regarding Title IX cases;

  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite

  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the TCC Institute

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in student services or a related field

  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field

  • Knowledge of and experience with issues related to gender based violence and Title IX

  • Knowledge of and direct experience working with diverse student populations, Title IX federal regulations, law, and interpreting federal regulations

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

  • Knowledge of and experience in the administration or coordinator of Title IX in a higher education institution

  • Experience in a community college setting
