Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to multiple projects touching different spaces within Packaging and Specialty Plastics Technical Service & Development group. Some of the Packaging and Specialty Plastics segments include Flexible Food and Specialty Packaging; Industrial and Consumer Packaging; Pipes; Rigid Packaging; Hygiene and Medical; and Laminating Adhesives. Project assignments may include completing a competitive intelligence study to benchmark our new product(s) in the market, leading part of an active processing project, working on a R&D “new-new” project with the possibility of IP generation, working on commercialization for a customer or contributing to a market-driven project.

Essential Job Skills

  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to change gears and work with different people throughout the organization and externally.

  • Able to prioritize, schedule time on various pieces of equipment and be comfortable working in a film converting environment and a lab environment (safety shoes, ear protection, eye protection, etc).

  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office (preferably JMP statistical software and/or Excel).

  • Have a strong interest and/or experience with polymers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in Packaging Science or a minor in Packaging.

Minimum 2.700 GPA at your current university, is required.

A minimum requirement for a long term US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis.
