Job Description

The Domestic Network Development team is responsible for identifying and forecasting potential new routes for American’s Domestic and Canadian networks, meeting with airports to review existing service and discuss new opportunities, and negotiating contracts for new/existing service, with the overarching goal of maximizing profitability.

The success of the projects relies on the ability to work with internal and external parties by facilitating communication, providing visibility to key risks and issues, and developing creative solutions to enhance the American Airlines route network.

The ideal candidate has a passion for aviation, a robust understanding of airline networks, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and excellent quantitative and inter-personal skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate passenger demand, build and refine revenue and economic models, identify solutions to complex business problems, and present such analysis and recommendation to senior management

  • Devise and execute strategies to improve network effectiveness

  • Perform ad-hoc projects pertaining to network strategy and performance, commercial business planning, and other related areas

  • Frequent contact and coordination with airport representatives

Job Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in Network Planning, Revenue Management, or Finance preferred​

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • MBA degree or equivalent work experience preferred

  • Advanced Excel and modeling skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of AA network structure

  • Experience with financial modeling and analysis

  • Self-starter with strong leadership skills

  • Demonstrated leadership of complex, multifunctional projects

  • Proven financial and analytical skills, including ability to logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop creative solutions

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels of management

  • Requires limited travel
