Job Description

The Manager, Co-Brand Partnerships Acquisition Strategy will focus on strategic marketing projects designed to drive new acquisitions in the airports and inflight, business development and overall portfolio growth for the Barclays/AAdvantage co-brand card program.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Barclays/AAdvantage business efforts to acquire new credit card accounts in the airports and inflight

Responsible for developing media and marketing campaigns to support growth of the Barclays co-brand

Interacts effectively with the Flight Service team to grow the inflight channel and increase FA engagement

Collaborate closely with the Barclays team to design and execute strategies and marketing plans across the Barclays/AAdvantage business line, as well as with MasterCard and other key partners on a project or promotional basis

Internal and cross-functional coordination and project delivery often includes Customer Insights & Loyalty Program Strategy, and Partner Marketing teams as well as other teams at American such as Marketing, Digital, Flight Service, and IT

Frequent travel required to support partner meetings, Co-Brand educational roadshows across airports, and industry events

Decision making (what decisions will this Job be making): This position will be making marketing and campaign strategy decisions

Impact (how and who will these decisions impact): These decisions will impact both external and internal business units

Communication (who will this Job communicate with and in what capacity): This position with communicate with external partners and vendors as well as internal departments such as AAdvantage, Marketing, Digital, Flight Service, and IT

Job Qualifications

  • BA/BS required. MBA/MS preferred.

  • Experience in the financial industry and strong business and marketing fundamentals

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills required

  • Proven high level of initiative, creativity, collaboration and follow-up in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across multiple departments and partner entities

  • Can identify, prioritize, manage and grow different business and marketing initiatives simultaneously

  • Customer focused, highly analytical, thinks creatively and is persuasive with internal and external stakeholders to overcome obstacles

  • Must work well within a team, both leading and developing others and as part of a greater organization with broader goals and objectives

  • Must be able to travel regularly
