Job Description

The Manager, Co-Brand Partnerships Strategy will be responsible for a full range of strategic projects designed to drive growth through analytics and business development and manage risk at the same time for one of the largest credit card cobrand partnerships in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops sound business cases in support of strategic initiatives, while also influencing key stakeholders for decision making and prioritization

  • Creates, analyzes and executes complex contract negotiations and proposal economics to enrich product value proposition and conducts effective negotiations

  • Utilizes various tools and tactics, such as CRM, data mining and financial modeling, to identify transactional trends and opportunities against key performance metrics that facilitate market share and revenue growth

  • Works cross-functionally and cross-company to align priorities that enhance product positioning, while also enriching the value proposition to company, partners and the consumer

  • Analyzes and researches industry and market trends to better deliver innovative product design and customer experience

  • Develops recommendations, as well as written and/or oral presentations of those recommendations to senior management

  • Monitors risk factors for the business and provides assessment and recommendations in a timely fashion to senior management

  • Ensures contract compliance across the organization

Job Qualifications

  • BA/BS required. MBA/MS preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, especially in credit card management and strong business fundamentals

Preferred qualifications:

  • Creative, decisive and self-motivated thinker with excellent analytical and team work skills

  • An aptitude for problem solving, logically structuring analysis of complex issues and developing creative recommendations

  • Effectively uses multiple influence and negotiation techniques to achieve optimal solutions

  • Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to clearly convey thoughts and opinions in a variety of forums including presentations to senior management, discussions with external partners and interactions with peers

  • Innovative problem solver who can take an idea from conception through execution

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations

  • Advanced Excel skills required, SQL is a plus

  • Proficient in fundamentals of credit card business and key P&L drivers

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills required

  • Proven high level of initiative, creativity, collaboration and follow-up in a fast-paced, dynamic environment across multiple departments and partner entities

  • Can identify, prioritize, manage and grow different business and marketing opportunities simultaneously

  • Highly analytical, thinks creatively and is persuasive with internal and external stakeholders to overcome obstacles

  • Must work well within a team, as part of a greater organization with broader goals and objectives

  • Must be able to travel regularly
