Job Description

The Sr Business Systems Analyst is to work as a liaison between the business and technology teams in defining and/or conveying software products and services being delivered. The role focuses on supporting both project and operational objectives by analyzing business functions, gathering Business requirements and technical information, evaluating output requirements and recommending controls. BSA’s may be involved in supporting customer/business needs around user administration, configuration management, communicating system behaviors, reporting, performance, monitoring, coordinating system needs (end of service life, patching, upgrading), support incoming bugs & defects as well as assist project managers with change requests, small enhancements and contribute to any incoming project initiatives.

Required Skills:

  • Provide on-going support for existing systems.

  • Determine Business requirements, translate them into functional and technical specifications and track them through the complete development and/or change life-cycle.

  • Perform or coordinate gathering, review, and analysis of data and data integrity.

  • Manage system configurations, systems access, and analyze and recommend enhancements to improve system operations.

  • Manage communication on support issues, create system reference guides, training materials, and system and process diagrams.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, and/or coordinate same.

  • Support communication and response process; responding to users on system issues, maintenance, and system status advising and escalating on any prolonged or major issues

  • Create/maintain reporting metrics and procedure documentation, to ensure consistent and accurate handling of problems and ensure SLAs are achieved.

  • Support system change process that notifies all business areas and managers of system downtime, delays, and/or alerts.

  • Stay abreast of systems technology best practices and changing technologies to maintain domain expertise and make recommendations for enhancements or changes

  • Coordinate application installs, application tuning, monitoring, testing, and servicing

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in IT/IS/CS/CE/CIS/MIS/Engineering/Technology or related field , desired

  • 8+ years of relevant technical or business work experience

  • Experience with SAP Warehouse Management and/or Inventory Management systems and projects is desireable

  • SharePoint development, design, SSRS, and SQL skills preferred

  • Advanced ability to plan strategically for current and future business environments, including future technology and business design changes to create flexible, scalable solutions

  • Experience work within Agile projects is desired

  • Two years of experience with Planview, Rally, and SharePoint is preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of IT business operations, systems requirements and processes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities required to resolve complex issues

  • Knowledgeable user of Microsoft Office suite of products

  • Complete other related duties as assigned

  • Travel will be required
