Siemens Industry is looking for an Engineering Technician 2 for their Grand Prairie, TX location. This person will test and Inspect Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards to applicable standards (i.e. UL1558, UL891, IEEE, etc). The candidate will report to the Test Supervisor and will have no direct reports.
Use multi meter and electrical theory to verify power readings and circuit design to ensure proper wiring and operation.
Use Hipot, test cart, hand tools and various other tools to aid in testing.
Use specialized software for testing/inspecting when required (i.e. Siemens WinPM, Step 7, MicroWin, WinCC Flexible, SAP, etc.).
Perform inspections/audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Maintain and input records or reports related to testing/inspecting activities.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:
Electrical experience required.
Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, one line diagrams, and other engineering prints.
Ability to use troubleshooting skills and electrical theory to diagnose and solve semi-complex problems related to design or wiring errors.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast paced environment.
Strong computer skills.
MCC or Controls experience preferred.
