This role is responsible for customer invoicing, revenue and gas accounting for regulated TransCanada natural gas pipelines and storage. The accountant will compile, analyze, voucher and report data related to gas flow and customer activity, and implement regulatory orders as they relate to the role.
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
Revenue and Gas Accounting;
Prepare and verify customer invoices;
Accounts receivable management;
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations; and
Qualifications and Education
Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills and the ability to create effective solutions;
Ability to handle multiple assignments with varying priorities and due dates;
Proficiency in MS Office applications;
Ability to work independently, within a team environment and cross functionally;
Customer Service orientation; and
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with two to four years of regulated revenue and gas accounting experience.Working knowledge of SAP accounting software;
Knowledge of regulated natural gas pipeline accounting including familiarity with Order 581;
Familiarity with the FERC Code of Federal Regulations as it pertains to regulated gas pipeline accounting;
