General Information

This position is located in Houston, Texas and reports to the Supply Chain Director of US Pipeline Projects while providing administrative support for Supply Chain in the US. The incumbent will assist in the coordinating procurement of materials and services for the construction services group and perform administrative duties for Supply Chain.


  • Provides guidance and assistance to team members on company programs and processes such as SAP;

  • Assists with onboarding of new employees and contractors;

  • Maintains files;

  • Tracks and reports on employee training, utilizing existing programs and databases;

  • Prepares and coordinates reporting and analysis of area budgets and cost tracking, utilizing applicable software programs;

  • Daily office administrative duties including managing office supplies and equipment;

  • Provides/prepares documentation of meeting minutes and presentations using software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;

  • Maintains a central filing system;

  • Coordinates facilities for meetings, training, travel arrangements and offsite events;

  • Processes invoices;

  • Assisting in the preparation and distribution of monthly reporting activities;

  • Providing SAP, WebEX and Workforce support to team members;

  • Preparing expense reports for Managers and Directors;

  • Managing and maintaining confidential information;

  • Managing all forms of information using department and Company document managementprocesses, including SharePoint, SAP and Filenet;

  • Performing other general administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications and Education


  • Experience with SAP, LMS, Workforce, ART, Filenet, SharePoint will be an asset;

  • Proven analytical, finance/budgeting, problem-solving, and organizational skills;

  • High level of self-motivation, effective time management, and priority setting skills;

  • Knowledge of TransCanada policies and procedures and networks;

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment;

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly;

  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Attention to detail, ability to analyze information for accuracy;

  • Ability to exercise initiative and prioritize work to maximize efficiency;

  • Energetic personality who is able to manage tight deadlines and schedules;

  • Strong proficiency with software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;

  • Strong work ethic when under pressure in this fast-paced environment.

Education / Experience:

  • The successful candidate will have at least 4 years industry related experience;

  • Business administration post-secondary education would be an asset, but is not a requirement.
