Application Support Engineer


Leads a large project or multiple projects that are significant in scope and impact. Works independently, with limited direction, and is evaluated through end results. Initiates and provides leadership, strategic/tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client/business area issues and in the development of a technical environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives. Participates with Technology management in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client/business area. Serves as a single point of contact and the escalation point between the client/business area and internal management for the resolution of unresolved problems, complaints and complex service requests. Provides the client areas with technology products and service alternatives that improve the support delivery process. employees in this job code do not manage people. o Support OpenLink Endur to facilitate MLCI’s financial crude, refined products, and gas trading.

o Working closely with project manager and business users to gather detailed specifications and requirements for extensions and enhancements to OpenLink Endur.

o Participate in system design and implementation.

o Perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing for each release.

o Manage EOD workflows and batches.

o Deploy, maintain and enhance systems as required by the business.

o Collaborate with DBA to model database, create stored procedures, etc.

Job Requirements:


  • Solid experience with OpenLink Endur

  • Strong understanding of the energy trading business.

  • Some knowledge of derivatives and financial products.

  • At least 5 years of hands-on enterprise application development experience.

  • Solid experience in either Oracle or SQL Server

  • Desired Technology:

o Experience with AVS highly desirable

o Strong foundation in multi-tiers, distributed application development

o Background in java or C preferred but not required
