The Hospitals of Providence CREDENTIALING COORDINATOR in Houston, Texas
Performs initial credentials duties for the medical staff and allied health staff. Provides secretarial support and follow-up for medical staff meetings in a safe manner. Assists with continuing medical education activities for the medical staff when requested. Prepares and distributes correspondence relating to medical staff functions.
Required Minimum Education High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Required Additional Education Secretarial/Computer training.
Required License/Certification None, CPCS preferred.
Training and Experience 5 years of hospital and/or healthcare administrative experience required. Medical staff experience preferred. Must possess good computer skills and have experience in word processing, database and spreadsheets. Previous experience in minute-taking a plus. A combination of education and/or experience which represents a general understanding of credentialing, the healthcare industry, and standards compliance related to credentialing. Ability to operate without supervision and to make solid independent decisions based on logic and policy. Ability to function efficiently under stress due to demands related to deadlines and volume of work. Possesses advanced verbal and written communication skills as well as computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Also requires proven ability to work with confidential data
