We are looking for transactional attorneys with energy and/or utility experience to join our Legal & Regulatory Practice in our Houston office for project based engagements. These attorneys should have extensive experience with power procurement, power purchase agreements, project construction agreements, regulatory compliance, and transactional and real estate matters in the energy and utility sectors. As a consultant with RGP Legal, you will have the opportunity to assist clients in a variety of challenging projects that will make a positive impact on their ability to do business.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy industry negotiating and drafting power purchase agreements relating to conventional and renewable energy, turbine supply agreements related to wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and gas-fired electric generating facilities, gas sales agreements, transmission and distribution agreements and engineering, procurement and construction agreements, as well as developing RFOs and responding to RFOs
Deep understanding of the general technical and commercial challenges that energy companies face, particularly with respect to the Public Utilities Commission of Texas and federal regulatory controls
Law firm experience within an energy practice or in-house experience with an organization in the energy / utility industry required
Graduate of a top tier law school
Admitted to practice in Texas
Demonstrated track record of positive impact in all positions held
Ability to respond effectively and quickly to clients' needs and issues
Ability and desire to work within a team environment
Highly professional with superior verbal and written communications skills
