Description: The Digital Transformation Group is looking for a high-energy, experienced Energy & Transportation - Managing Architect to join our team as we look to enable our customers to achieve and sustain competitive advantage by aligning Cisco’s unified platform to their business imperatives in Energy & Transportation.
Reporting to the Director of Business Architecture, the Managing Architect is responsible for building a multi-year technology view to support and ensure the sales and adoption of technically sound customer-aligned architectures and solutions.
The Energy & Transportation Managing Architect directs a team of practice architects and directly engages with customers, partners, and Cisco engineering teams to ensure that Cisco solutions meet customer needs.
As the field industry technology leader for US Enterprise, the Energy & Transportation Managing Architect works closely with other Cisco technical and business leaders across Sales, Services, Product, and Partners to build and execute a Go-to-Market (GTM) plan.
The Energy & Transportation Managing Architect drives scale and brand relevance by mentoring field sales teams and partners, ISVs, OEMs, and system integrators to ensure alignment of solutions with customer needs and provide architectural guidance to enterprise customers.
Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Build and execute a multi-year architecture strategy and technical engagement plan for the practice with guidance from geography sales leadership • Build and lead team of Energy & Transportation architects to meet or exceed sales bookings targets and other individual business objectives and metrics • Manage and prioritize the pipeline to drive high quality engagement and scale for the practice • Drive integration of partner/services capabilities into Energy & Transportation architectures by leveraging internal and cross functional resources • Coordinate technical engagement of Energy & Transportation architects with Systems Engineering Directors across the geography • Mentor field technical leaders on solutions, platforms, business challenges, and customer engagement tactics/strategies • Represent “voice of the customer” to Cisco for demonstration, architecture, platform, solution, and product requirements for the practice • Work alongside the Energy & Transportation Sr. Executive Director to develop the technical strategy and solution priorities as part of the overall practice Go-to-Market plan
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Deep applied Energy & Transportation knowledge in a leadership role working at a customer, partner, or vertically aligned OEM/ISV • Subject matter expert in Energy & Transportation Industries • Must have applied experience serving as a solution, information, application, infrastructure, or enterprise architect • Expertise in consultative selling approaches and establishing credibility as trusted advisor by executives, architects, and industry personnel • Experience developing an ISV/OEM/SI partner ecosystem to drive joint sales or technical engagement • Demonstrated ability to map technology and architectures to industry business imperatives for Energy & Transportation • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in an environment of high autonomy • Experience creating and communicating compelling messages to C-level executives, with an ability to leverage logic, experience, facts, and passion to influence others • Thorough understanding of the Energy & Transportation competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and applicability to customer environments • Proven ability to work with other executives in the development of strategic direction and oversight of the organization • Ability to lead teams of diverse backgrounds to deliver quality results • Strong demonstrated knowledge of networking theories and concepts • 15+ years industry experience or equivalent preferred • BA/BS degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
