We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Technical Services Specialist, EP (EP TSS). Among other duties and responsibilities described herein, the EP TSS provides engineering, sales, educational and technical support in response to field inquiries from physicians, healthcare professionals, patients, and field sales staff, involving both Atrial Fibrillation (AF) and Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) products.


  • Providestechnical assistance and support for procedures in which AF and CRM productsare used, including during pre- and post-implantation.

  • Developsand executes programming for highly complex medical devices.

  • Remains technically competent relative to EPbest practices and the products offered in the marketplace.

  • Develops, leads and/or facilitates trainingsand other programs on St. Jude Medical (SJM) products to healthcareprofessionals.

  • Performswork that involves a high degree of independence.

  • Identifiesand implements the most efficient, cost-effective and best business practicesto execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness andappropriateness.

  • Identifiesreports and advises of customer needs, product performance and potential salesopportunities to sales representatives / directors and/or management toinfluence sales growth and service of accounts.

  • Participatesin the creation and implementation of long- and short-term sales and businessstrategies.

  • Support all SJM initiatives as identified by management and insupport of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems(EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and DrugAdministration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, SJM policies,operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive andcooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees,customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities,on occasion, as assigned, which may include taking call on evenings andweekends for time-sensitive patient and customer needs.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs., asneeded.


Associate’s degree or certificate in healthcare-related field required. Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Medical Engineering or related technical field strongly preferred.

  • RequiresSJM Brady, Tachy, CRT, Ensite, and EP certification within 12-24 months of hiredate.

  • RequiresHRS certification.

  • Aminimum of two plus years’ increasingly responsible experience in the cardiacpacing and related industries preferred.

  • Demonstratedability to lead and/or facilitate educational programs to healthcareprofessionals.

  • Demonstratedknowledge of cardiology, electrophysiology, or cardiac electro-physiologyprocedures preferred.

  • Familiaritywith cath lab and operating room procedures and protocol.

  • Mustapply engineering skills and abilities to analyze complex pacing ECGs.

  • Mustbe able to work effectively with engineers, technical specialists, vendors, andcustomers to achieve assigned goals; must be capable of coordinating multipleassignments simultaneously and effectively.

  • Experience working in a broaderenterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed andgeographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individualcontributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others toaccomplish projects.

  • Strong verbaland written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiplelevels in the organization.

  • Multitasks,prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strongorganizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel based on business need.
