Primary responsibilities will include:
Investigate customer complaints and perform analysis to determine the cause(s). Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for CNCs, servo, spindle drive and motor products.
Travel to customer sites, with overnight travel approximately 12-14 nights per month. Customer sites are located in TX, OK, KS, LA, AR, CO, and NM for on-site repair, troubleshooting, and/or maintenance services for CNCs and related system peripheral equipment.
Act as a liaison with the customer and provide customer support so that FANUC products are used at an optimal level.
Determine which replacement parts will be needed for service calls and ensure that they are available.
Report quality problems encountered to the appropriate manager and share information as an active team member.
Maintain all company-provided equipment, including tools and laptop.
Control inventory, as assigned.
Perform and follow all service operations and procedures and submit completed company-required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
Must be available to travel as customer demands require and do so within company provided directions and guidelines.
Improve level of knowledge through active participation in self-study, on-the-job training, and company training.
Ability to travel by airplane to customer location or for training purposes/meetings as needed.
Physically able to drive to customer locations by car for periods up to 6 hours at a time.
Daily reporting to the Service Center Supervisor and Managers to update status and availability.
Ideal candidate will have the following experience, education and knowledge:
Two-year electronic/electrical degree or four year engineering degree, or equivalent training.
Technical school graduate or other graduate with some technical job history that translates well to the core competencies.
Ability to diagnose and problem-solve.
Ability to make preliminary selections and adaptation of engineering alternatives.
Ability to learn and absorb new ideas quickly and completely to keep current with changes in technology and methodologies.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Use of diagnostic tools.
Flexibility in traveling to customer sites.
Ability to travel in a plane or up to 6 hours in a car. Domestic or international travel, including air travel, train, and car, as needed.
Must manipulate tools, i.e., knobs, levers, and wiring, as required to repair equipment. Must use diagnostic tools.
Must be able to transport equipment and parts (weighing up to 75 pounds) to customer locations.
