IES Commercial, Inc. - Houston, TX, seeking full-timeFinancial Analystbased in Texas to provide accurate and data based information on overall division and individual branches profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. Researches and analyzes financial information to help management make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements. Leverages a strong accounting and compliance background to explore historical financial data, predict future results and drive process and policy improvements. Financial Analyst responsibilities include:

  • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, etc.) taking into account company’s goals and financial standing.

  • Forecast future revenues and expenditures to establish cost structures and determine capital budgeting for projects; evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation.

  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.

  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.

  • Assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status risks.

  • Identify trends, advise divisional management and recommend actions based on sound analysis.

  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts.

  • Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.

  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.

  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact position’s function.

  • Coordinate with other members of finance team to review financial information and forecasts.

  • Consult with division management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; CPA a plus.

  • 2 to 3 year’s construction or related field financial analyst experience; public accounting a plus.

  • Mergers and acquisitions experience.

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, plus tax/audit reporting regulations.

  • Computer, MS EXCEL and financial software applications proficiency; Spectrum a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software a plus.

  • Well-organized team player with ability to thrive in fast-paced work environments.

  • Knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis.

  • Statistical analysis and statistical software experience.

  • Excellent presentation, reporting and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Proficient analytical and financial modeling skills.

  • Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel nationally up to 65% of time via motor vehicle and air carrier.

Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen, and when applicable if duties involve operating motor vehicle must be able to pass motor vehicle record check.
