Job Description

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst is responsible for the management and integrity of various HR information systems, assumes lead on HRIS projects, and provides senior level functional support and analysis.

Job Duties:

*Manages and leads HRIS initiatives, such as new projects, enhancements, and annual individual system-related activities. *Provides HRIS support to the University community including, but not limited to, troubleshooting and resolving specific system-related issues, performing scheduled system activities, recommending solutions or alternative methods to meet business requirements. *Analyzes business processes and collaborates with owners to improve system usage. *Assists with data integrity by performing system audits. Communicates and advises end-users on proper data entry within the system. *Drafts business case documents, specifications, and flow charts of HR business processes. *Performs preliminary testing and recommends improvements for assigned application modules. *Serves as University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) liaison to the UHD Information Technology and University of Houston System (UHS) HRIS project teams to provide support for new applications and modifications to existing applications in the PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System (HRMS), Halogen, Fortis and PeopleAdmin/Taleo. *Develops and manages HR dashboard and workforce analytics. Recommends strategies for addressing gaps and creates and analyzes standard and ad-hoc queries and reports. *Coordinates with vendors regarding system audits, evaluations, upgrades, contracts and purchases, as well as system integration and implementation. *Provides support to the IT project team in the analysis, development, and implementation of internal systems designed to improve efficiency and effectiveness of human resources business practices in accordance with priorities established and direction provided by ESO leadership. *Researches industry best practices, benchmarks, and tools and identifies opportunities to incorporate into UHD practices. *Supervises the development and maintenance of ESO webpages.

Education and Experience:

Baccalaureate degree and minimum of five (5) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Applications 9.0 is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Halogen and Fortis are an asset.
