We are currently seeking a HVAC Equipment Start-up Specialist to join the team as a member of our growing Energy Services division in Texas.


  • Coordinates with assigned project supervisor, superintendent and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently

  • Have the knowledge and training to properly decommission and commission various types of HVAC equipment

  • Informs personnel regarding procedures for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations

  • Installs various types of heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgrade capabilities

  • Maintains vehicles, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition

  • Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions

  • Prepares written materials (e.g. start-up, disposal and various activity logs) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information both internally and to the customer

  • Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availabilty of materials required at job site

  • Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the work unit

  • Updating and using relevant knowledge--keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job

  • Equipment Selection--Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job

  • Maintain Refrigerant disposal/dispensing records to meet company and federal requirements

  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures

  • Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition

  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately


High School diploma or GED, five (5) years of experience in the trade which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training and should include some experience in the HVAC trade as a service or maintenance technician with a minimum of two (2)years system installation-related experience or equivalent formal training in HVAC systems operations, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.


The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demand: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking and 30% standing. The job is performed under temperature/weather extremes and in a generally hazard free environment.


  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Have and maintain valid Texas technician card

  • Current EPA certification

  • Reliable transportation

  • Possesses both written and verbal English language skills in order to perorm daily duties

  • Must have five (5) years minimum of hands on field experience

  • Have a valid Texas driver's license

  • Insurable by Companies insurance carrier

  • Require work beyond normal duty hours in support of emergency or high priority work.
