Manages operations and processes for IT space, and IT assets. University Information Technology (UIT) is a campus-wide geographically diverse organization with one of the largest asset inventories on campus. This position will be responsible for organizing, tracking, and updating the use and location of UIT space and assets. The position reports to the director of IT resources .
Ensures the timely and accurate processing of IT asset and space in compliance with State and Federal regulations and University policies.
Implements and manages comprehensive technology -based asset management program for all IT capital assets and controlled equipment. Researches and incorporates best practices for lifecycle management.
Implements and manages comprehensive technology-based space management program for all IT space, both on and off campus. Researches and incorporates best practices for space management.
Implements and manages comprehensive technology-based asset management program for all IT capital assets and controlled equipment. Researches and incorporates best practices for lifecycle management.
Manages staff, operation and processes for all areas of responsibility.
Advances the use of technology in all IT purchasing functions through the development and maintenance of databases, scanning systems, and other methods of data and asset management.
Recommends purchases of hardware and software in alignment with university and industry standards, and needs of internal customers.
Serves as Information Technology’s liaison to Property Management, Space Management, vendors, and customers, builds and maintains relationships with key constituents.
Processes unique or unusual procurement documents; including documents related to space and to assets.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline.
Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
