Role & Responsibilities In this role, the Master Data Quality Technician will be responsible for ensuring that the Master Data meets current regulatory expectations and support the ongoing development and implementation effort. The Master Data Quality Technician needs to comprehend, configure, construct, maintain and approve laboratory analyses, specifications, protocols, standards and other LIMS scientific master data to meet the real needs of the business and project stakeholders, including customers and end users. This will involve technical writing and attention to detail for the maintenance of SOPs and execution of validation protocols. Provide daily technical support to the global team of LIMS Master Data collectors requesting new rounding routines, units of measure, calculations, and data design. Generation and maintenance of LIMS analysis, specifications, standards and protocols working within defined service level timelines. Receive and resolve operational support requests pertaining to LIMS analysis, specifications, and other master (static) data as the first-line user liaison. Work with Master Data SMEs to identify and provide Master Data outputs that make it more user-friendly and efficient. Peer review of Master Data system documentation including Master Data SOP’s and Fact Sheets for calculations and data design issues. Provide solutions to users for Master Data, from a position of knowledge, as related to system capabilities, business/operational experience, and information gathered from interviews and research. Create and execute test cases and test scripts including unit, integration and acceptance testing before general release of Master Data. Generation and maintenance of technical documentation, to include test and data specifications, SOP's, test plans and protocols, test cases and validation reports ensuring traceability and conformance to quality system guidelines. Provide any further master data, or any other configuration or system related support to the global team as necessary. Required QualificationsGood knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office applications and advanced/expert proficiency with Excel (able to write complex formulas). Willingness/flexibility to work at times of day that fit in with team members globally when telephone discussions are necessary Strong interpersonal and business communication skills; confident presenter, clear, concise technical writer. Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or another Scientific or Information Technology field; or equivalent in terms of education, training, and work experience. Demonstrated experience in the build/configuration of Thermo Sample Manager LIMS is ideal Functional laboratory business process knowledge strongly preferred. Competencies Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Highly productive and able to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet timelines. Ability to work with a high degree of independence and the ability to quickly diagnose and solve scientific and technical problems. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a cross-functional team to achieve common goals.
