Ensure physical documentation is accounted for according to Medicaid/Medicare and organizational guidelines to facilitate payment for services.
Additional Summary Specific to Job
Analyze patient information/documentation in the electronic medical record to ensure completion is in a timely and accurate manner.
Audits medical record documentation for deficiencies and electronically notifies interdisciplinary clinical team of incomplete medical records.
Follows up with interdisciplinary clinical team in a professional manner to ensure completion of medical record.
Retrieves and prepares paper medical records for scanning into the electronic medical record.
Accurately audit and verify patient information.
Performs quality analysis of scanned records to ensure readability of scanned records.
Respond to release of information requests either in person or by telephone in a timely manner.
Data Entry and Reconciliation of physician charges into GE Centricity/IDX system.
Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel software.
High School Diploma/Equivalent with a minimum of one year experience. Basic office software experience is required.
Commensurate with experience
This position works with Houston Independent School District (H.I.S.D.) students.
This position works with minors under the age of 18 years.
This position will be working in a laboratory or clinic
This position will use radiation sources
