Security Consultant, Information Technology The Security Consultant is responsible for the management of the enterprise Information Technology security program and shall work closely with the IT managers, support teams, and business stakeholders within EP Energy. More specifically in this position, either directly or through working with others, the incumbent shall:

  • Provide strategy and direction on information security across the IT department and enterprise-wide.

  • Build sound relationships across the enterprise to enable a strong understanding and close alignment with business needs, direction, and risk appetite.

  • Own the Cyber Security roadmap and provide oversight to all related activities.

  • Manage the creation and production of timely, accurate, and informative business and IT security metrics. Utilize the metrics to prioritize key initiatives and respond to negative trends.

  • Manage and deliver to the organization an effective information security awareness training program.

  • Liaise with application owners to ensure that information security architecture standards, policies, and procedures are available and enacted consistently across application development projects and programs.

  • Liaise with the relevant parties to ensure that appropriate controls are implemented to prevent recurrence of information security incidents.

  • Ensure the consistent application of security standards across IT infrastructure.

  • Establish processes to respond in a timely manner to information security incidents.

  • Respond appropriately to investigations, managing situations with discretion, sensitivity, and objectivity.

  • Ensure that processes are in place and that staff is appropriately skilled to respond to security incidents. This role would also collaborate and work closely with the IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance function to:

  • Align with the company's risk management strategy and build out information security specific elements, collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to get buy-in and build momentum. Manage the cybersecurity framework. Desired Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Information Security

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentations. Ability to communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills; ability to reach decisions through negotiation and consensus.

  • In depth experience implementing and managing the following security concepts & technologies: o Email security o Data Loss Prevention o Firewall/perimeter/DMZ security o Security metrics, reporting, monitoring, and logging o Incident management o Encryption and secure protocols o Vulnerability assessments and remediation o Malware/virus defense

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of enterprise-wide multi-platform operating system security, network security, application security, database security, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

  • Demonstrate a track record of having to deliver a balance between strategic leadership and tactical effort.

  • Professional security certifications preferred (SANS, ISACA, or ISC2 endorsed)

  • 10 years of Upstream Oil and Gas industry experience preferred

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related discipline
