The ideal candidate will possess the necessary knowledge and expertise in payroll and benefit administration and have a minimum of three years of full cycle payroll experience as well as have at least two years of benefit administration experience. They will also be the main contact to all employees in the administration for benefits and payroll related inquiries.

  • Process semi-monthly payroll in ADP for employees

  • Manage various employee group insurance programs including group health/vision/prescription/dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and 401k plan

  • Submit payroll files to the appropriate carriers for 401(k), and flexible spending contributions

  • Reviews in depth employee timecards and personal details to make sure the information is correct and consistent with actual hours worked by each employee

  • Ensure employee changes, terminations and hires are completed per the payroll calendar or as required by law

  • Makes adjustments and deductions for each employee and manage payroll-related benefits

  • Must be able to work at a fast pace to gather all wages owed when cutting final checks and provide to HR upon all terminations

  • Audit and preview payroll reports prior to transmission

  • Maintains employee's ADP profiles, ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality

  • Data entry of garnishment payments, tax levies or other court ordered withholdings

  • Ensure state and federal taxes, including quarter and year-end reconciliations and gross to net calculations are balanced and accurate

  • Verify all pre and post-tax deductions for accuracy

  • Prepare and maintain accurate related payroll records and reports

  • Research and resolve problems, perform scheduled activities, and act as liaison with service providers

  • Reconciliation of all Payroll related items and monthly invoicing when needed

  • Reconcile carrier benefit billing

  • Coordinates and/or completes quarterly and year-end processing requirements

  • Performs routine audits of ADP to assure that transactions are documented and processed within established guidelines

  • Assist employees regarding payroll and benefit related questions or issues, both existing and new hires

  • Responsible for preparing and submitting quarterly payroll tax returns, annual W2’s, and annual ACA reporting

  • Process benefit changes; add/remove dependents, termination of employees, etc

  • Work with multiple carriers to enroll new employees in benefit plans.

  • Manage leave of absences and workers compensation claims

  • Maintain personnel and payroll files

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree and/or payroll certification, preferred

  • Some general ledger experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience required and 2 years of experience in benefits administration

  • Previous experience working with ADP Workforce Now

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws pertaining to payroll and leaves

  • Experience with processing payroll across multiple States in the U.S.

  • Experience with Canada payroll and country regulations

  • Strong working knowledge in all aspects of payroll processing

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
