Platform Development Manager for Commercial Notebooks
Platform Manager responsible for the design, validation and new product introduction of HP Business Notebooks and mobile devices. This person will be tasked to deliver an overall HW solution. Interface with cross functional teams for end-to-end system integration. Travel to China and Taiwan to oversee pilot builds and direct engagement with the suppliers.
Provides direct and ongoing leadership for multiple individual contributors designing and developing engineering solutions and managing projects utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions.
Manages deliverables, schedules, and costs for ongoing projects and programs, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, and technical leaders to communicate program status, escalate issues, and influence tactical decision-making.
Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
Ensure inter-disciplinary communication with software and firmware teams to promote overall health of the program.
Education and Experience
First level university degree or equivalent experience required in an engineering discipline. Preferably Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 10 or more years of related work experience, including 5 or more years of product development experience.

Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences. (e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language
Superior business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more engineering, technology, and product domains
Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting
