Job Summary

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment in the Houston, TX office. We are looking for an individual who has the ability to plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of small to large multi-discipline projects involving freeways, interchanges, grade separations, and roadways. Will prepare roadway design plans, traffic control plans, signing and pavement marking plans, drainage plans, cost estimates, specifications, for letting.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the quality of engineering work performed, client service, utilization of staff, marketing, reputation of the office, contract management, billing collection, and project profitability for roadway transportation projects

  • Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of the project; manages project staffing levels

  • Responsible for all aspects of project execution and delivery; cost and scope, schedule, and quality of work

  • Mentor and develop staff, provide leadership and an environment which encourages teamwork, initiative and growth

  • Guide project team on technical issues and technical development of staff

  • Supervision, coordination, and production of several projects concurrently

  • Builds and maintains positive client relationships

  • Participate in proposal preparation including presentations and interview, contract negotiations, and sub coordination

  • Implement project QA/QC

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in designing schematic and PS&E projects for rural and urban roadways; has been a task lead or the project manager of multiple concurrent projects, a major roadway project or both

  • Proficient in MicroStation, GeoPack, WinStorm, HY-8, AutoTurn; and Microsoft Office suite

  • Professional Engineer in Texas, TxDOT pre-certifications in schematic and roadway design

  • Must posses a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20+ years of related experience

  • Has participated in or was project manager for multiple, recent TxDOT pursuits that included an interview

  • Recent TxDOT project wins as a Project Manager

  • Has managed several projects as the project manager maintaining the budget, schedule and client satisfaction

  • TxDOT Precertification in 3.1.1, 3.2.1, 3.3.1, 4.1.1, 4.2.1, and 4.3.1 at a minimum
