SUMMARY

The Safety Manager position is one of our business units in the field of Construction and is focused on providing safety expertise along with risk recognition/reduction skill, driving the goal of “Zero Accidents or injuries” through a proactive, safe work practice that utilizes prevention and mitigation techniques when assessing potential risks. and 100% regulatory compliance. The Safety Manager will conduct workplace safety audits and facilitate corrective action plan completion and provide technical and internal consulting assistance to divisions. The candidate must influence safety, environmental, DOT and commercial vehicle safe driving improvement using data analysis coupled with well-organized clear and crisp presentation. He/she will be responsible for influencing all levels of the organization in sustaining 100% compliance with corporate and governmental EHS regulation along with corporate safety culture. The successful candidate will be accountable to develop safety expertise at the local division level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Function Lead Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) efforts at Regional Level
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and practices and remains apprised of industry standards, technology, developments, and regulatory changes

  • Identify and implement best practices into Company’s standards to continuously improve safety practices

  • Uses data and presentation skill to influence adoption of EHS improvement at regional and local levels that is aligned to Corporate EHS strategy

  • Influence change across stakeholders from multiple business lanes, and implementing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.

  1. Audit compliance and contribute Regulatory Expertise
  • Perform comprehensive EHS facility audits

  • Create Corrective Action Plans based on audit findings

  • Facilitate timely completion and closure of Corrective Action Plans

  • Subject Matter Expert all Corporate and Governmental Regulatory Issues

  • Deliver Training to audience comprehension level

  • Conduct and facilitate training

  • Provide regulatory consulting to both internal and external customers

  • Interact successfully with regulatory bodies

  • Interact successfully with EHS suppliers/distributors

  1. Perform Injury and Incident Investigations
  • Investigate Injuries and Incidents

  • Identify Root and Contributing Causes of Injuries and Incidents via systems approach

  • Develop Corrective and Preventive Actions and Action Plans for Injuries and Incidents

  • Facilitate timely completion and communication of Corrective and Preventive Action Plans

  • Document all Injury and Incident Scenarios, Causes and CAPA in company EHS information system

  • Communicate Injury and Incident Scenario along with Root and Contributing Causes to the organization to facilitate proactive injury and incident avoidance activity.

  1. Safety Incident Management
  • Follow corporate goals, metrics, and priorities for safety across multiple organizations.

  • Manage safety incidents and data integrity to ensure accurate reporting and metrics within assigned region and support business safety initiatives.

  • Manage OSHA citations and investigations assessed within assigned region.

  • Analyze metrics and review monthly incidents to understand trends and align resources to focus where safety risk is frequent.

  • Audit data collection and reporting practices to confirm compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Embody the safety culture to change behavior and emphasize the benefits of the Safety Program.

Education & Certifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree

  • Course of Study: Safety, Environmental Sciences, Risk Management or related field

  • Preferred Special Certification or Licensing: CSP, CRSP, CHST, CUSA, OSHA, MSHA, ARM, CRIS

Travel: 75% - 90%

Legal Age Requirements: At least 18 years of age

Experience: 5-10 Years

Type of Required Experience:

Industry Specific: Field safety experience leading teams in residential and commercial construction

Functional Specific:

  • Experience in Manufacturing, Distribution, Corporate Experience, Auditing, Corrective Action Plan Development and Closure Facilitation, Training Development and Delivery. Also, implementing awareness/branding campaigns and techniques to create and maintain a strong safety culture

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
