Job Summary

Assists with the day to day administrative project management and may provide scientific direction for research projects of considerable scope and complexity.

Assists in the management of day-to-day activities of Evaluation of Implementation Strategies to Increase Translation of Evidence-Based Cancer Prevention and Control.

Additional Summary Specific to Job

This project includes evaluation of technical assistance workshops focusing on HPV vaccination and Colorectal screening that have been delivered in 11 national regions. The research coordinator will coordinate the interaction with project team members by organizing meetings and related tasks and materials. She or he will assist in the preparation of surveys and interview guides and in preparing IRB submissions of surveys, interview guides, and continuation forms. He or she will conduct in-depth interviews with participants of workshops and/or tools providing cancer prevention and control technical assistance. He or she will work closely with external partners to ensure the appropriate collection and analysis of survey data.

Additionally, the research coordinator will assist with the project titled Increasing Reach and Implementation of Evidence-Based Programs for Cancer Control Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health. The coordinator will work with subcontractors developing and evaluating an online tool to increase adoption, adaptation, and implementation of evidence-based interventions for cancer prevention and control. He or she will assist in conducting short surveys and in-depth interviews with an advisory panel guiding tool development. In addition, he or she will assist with surveys and in-depth interviews of users of the online tool. The coordinator will be responsible for regular reporting to the National Institutes of Health. For both projects, the coordinator will assist in paper and presentation preparation, and in grant proposal preparation for continuation.


Assists in development and implementation of research activities including online tool or evaluation instrument development and conducting interviews. Provides oversight of research protocols, synthesis and reporting of all research activities. Ensures that CPHS guidelines and approved protocols are followed at all times.

Assists with the day-to-day project management activities including coordinating and facilitating project meetings and planning and protocol meetings.

Works closely with external research partners and SPH data manager to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of data. Assists in management of data collection, evaluation, and interpretation.

Assists in the preparation of progress and annual reports and grant proposals, to governmental agencies. Prepares IRB submissions and change requests for research projects.

Assists with the preparation of budgets and initiates re-budgeting requests based on needs of research staff. Attends research planning meetings to assist in the preparation of budget drafts for departmental leadership approval. Manages budget to ensure funds are appropriately spent.

Assists in the preparation and writing of manuscripts and conference presentations, including literature reviews and other support and other duties as assigned

Organizational Requirements

Bachelor's degree or a minimum of four years relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Departmental Requirements/Preferences

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.

Certification of education on the protection of human research participants must be completed and submitted within 5 days of the effective date of employment.

Salary Range
