Emerson RTG Direct Sales in Houston, Texas


Direct sales of RTG products in a predefined geographical area.


  1. Obtain maximum order bookings from assigned territory and accounts

a. Develop and maintain an above average territory account load

b. Demonstrate proven performance on all product lines

c. Prioritize all accounts relative to Emerson potential

d. Maximize direct sales time in front of customer

e. Communicate with other Emerson Process Management personnel on an ongoing basis

  1. Protect and expand base business

a. Update annual account development plan, focusing on account penetration, new customers, and competitively held accounts

b. Consistently increase base business and develop accounts to transfer to new employees

c. Develop management sponsors for Rosemount products at customer locations

d. Determine and provide necessary sales coverage to become preferred supplier for Rosemount Tank Gauging product lines

e. Identify business changes and develop strategies to maximize order bookings

f. Continually displace competitors while maintaining position in existing accounts

  1. Aggressively pursue and win major project business

a. Provide major project management leadership on multidivisional pursuits

b. Implement special sales techniques for application intensive products

c. Provide leadership in development of sales action plans

d. Ensure all major projects are updated/current in project database

  1. Promote and sell Rosemount image and "Total Value"

a. Identify leads for Emerson initiatives

b. Aggressively introduce and promote new products

c. Establish technical seminars, Lunch and Learns, and major customer product presentations for Rosemount products

d. Create projects by tying Rosemount solutions to customer’s business drivers

e. Participate in local trade shows and professional societies

  1. Actively pursue professional sales development

a. Develop technical/sales presentations for Regional meetings

b. Assist Regional Manager in the development of sales personnel

c. Develop sales strategies that can be implemented by all sales personnel

d. Continue to develop/communicate application and industry knowledge relative to all Rosemount products

  1. Perform other duties as assigned.


Education: Bachelors degree in technical field, or proven history in the market.

Experience: Six (6) years of related sales/marketing industry experience.
