Leidos Software Engineer in HOUSTON, Texas
Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Space program Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain the Mission Control Center (MCC21) Common Services software team. This position will provide software development and maintenance across the entire software lifecycle for the MCC core subsystems such as Distribution Bus, Operational History, User Experience and Operational History Storage Software in support of NASA's Johnson Space Center International Space Station, Crew Space Transportation (CST-100), and Orion programs. The applicant will work in a dynamic team environment and will be responsible for software design, implementation, testing and user support after the release of the software. Applicant will work closely with System Engineers, System Testers, Software developers and the user community. The candidate must possess software development experience using C++ and Java with Unix/Linux skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are a must. Strong initiative, teamwork and problem solving skills are required.
Work with System Engineering to effectively analyze user requirements in order to design and develop MCC software, making use of software development tools.
Develop and maintain schedules for work components
Develop and maintain software using the full software development lifecycle.
Provide integration testing in multiple development and testing environments.
Create and/or update all documentation for design, development and testing
Provide training and support users of delivered software
Work effectively in a team setting to collaborate ideas and to design, implement, and integrate software components across different systems.
This position requires successful completion of a government background check to access government facilities and systems. Work cannot begin on the NASA program without a fully adjudicated security clearance. If you are not a U.S. Citizen or Green card holder, this check could take 12 to 18 months to complete.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
