Avanade Inc. Sr. Cloud Advisor in Houston, Texas

Growing our Cloud business and presence in the market is a strategic priority for Avanade globally. Avanade currently has a well-defined portfolio of services around MS cloud solutions, so in line with our growth aspirations, we are seeking to expand and strengthen our Cloud capability.

This role will be responsible for (helping) driving cloud GTM activities. Working regionally by supporting global cloud based solutions and services, this role is pivotal in building and extending Avanade’s reputation and offering as a trusted advisor, in all areas of cloud migration and transformation. Acting as the ‘go to person’, leader and owner of cloud advisory solutions, evolution and offerings within their region, the Cloud Advisor with grow our business and offerings on the Microsoft platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the direction, performance and growth of the cloud capability in the region;

focusing on changing and improving our clients cloud solutions and technology experience.

  • Become known as a leader in the region, working in partnership with clients; helping them assess, create and implement a wide range of cloud transformation projects.

  • Serve as an external thought leader on cloud: i.e. how it enables the next generation of IT (both infrastructure and applications).

  • Work closely with regional/area leadership, to shape and grow our cloud offering and acting as the local subject matter expert in Azure Applications and solutions.

  • Lead and contribute to Cloud pre sales activities, consulting on client projects and delivery of transformational projects. Serving as an executive sponsor for key customers and personally driving large cloud related sales pursuits.

  • Serve as the focal point for cloud related activities (strategy, GTM, capability, investments) across EALA.

  • Working with regional sales teams to ensure a thorough understanding of our cloud capabilities and GTMs.

  • Working with the global marketing team to shape the cloud GTM and the Market Unit leadership to define critical skills and ensure actions plans are addressed.

Key Deliverables

  • Drive significant increase in cloud related activity across the region.

  • Build the cloud business pipeline and extend the strategic impact of cloud technology services. Delivering assessment, delivery and solutions.

  • Become the regional/area expert on cloud;

Be known as ‘the’ trusted advisor for clients in all areas of cloud and migration/transformation.



  • 20 + years’ experience at CTO, SVP, CIO level.

  • Strong knowledge of current cloud, data center and IT technologies service providers, technology developers, industry analysts and influencers.

  • 10+ years in technology consulting (highly beneficial is prior experience//knowledge with Accenture strategy)

  • Strong customer focus, able to identify cloud strategies and plan for transformation to the cloud.

  • Highly developed communications skills, able to engage with ease at CXO/C suite level on 4 pivotal areas: Applications, Operations, Infrastructure and Service Strategy.

  • Broad experience across cloud platform offerings – be able to articulate how Azure compared from a solutions and strategic perspective against other cloud providers.

  • Proven track record of advising clients on migration to cloud technology and delivering cloud based transformations.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.

  • Highly comfortable in large scale environments - able to assess, run, deploy and modernize.

  • An ambassador for Cloud technology; with a track record of growth across highly matrix, consultancy technology environments.

  • Competent in front of clients and able to contribute and present strategic end-to-end solutions for Cloud Migration and Modernization.

  • Can readily grasp and put in place building blocks to create, move and deliver a strategy.

  • Proven track record of professional and personal growth, a network of talent and clients and a demonstrable entrepreneurial spirit.
