Group 1 Automotive Talent Acquisition Coordinator - Contract Position in Houston, Texas

Group 1 Automotive, a leader in automotive retail, is looking to add a qualified Talent Acquisition Coordinator to our team. As a contract employee with Alliant working within the Group 1 corporate office under the direction of the Associate VP of HR and working closely with our Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, field HR Managers and Dealership Management, this position will directly support our hiring efforts and manage a number of recruiting initiatives in our US markets.   • Develop and administer effective national/market-level recruiting programs to hire revenue producing positions (sales, technicians, advisors and F&I)

  • Responsible for recruiting efforts at select dealerships in the Houston market

  • Utilize internal databases (Connect and Talent Pool) to identify potential candidates and disseminate to field HR and hiring managers

  • Develop insightful/appealing/effective job postings and post to social media recruiting sites (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to increase available candidate pool

  • Develop creative recruiting resources to attract qualified candidates interested in retail automotive

  • Identify networking activities such as attending career fairs, professional association meetings, calling on or reaching out to the placement services for professional and technical schools as well as professional out placement services to generate candidates

  • Prepare shipments for career fairs and attend as needed

  • Screen candidates to ensure their qualifications meet position requirements

  • Produce and distribute reports that measure the success of recruiting activities

  • Conduct skills testing, office interviews and reference and background checks as needed

  • Maintain applicant tracking and trends to determine origin of candidates and effectiveness of recruiting initiatives/programs

  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to insure company’s compliance with all Federal and State legislation pertaining to talent acquisition

  • Work directly with field HR managers and Dealership Management to assist them in carrying out their goals related to recruiting/talent acquisition

  • Participate on committees, teams and special projects as needed

  • Assist the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition as needed

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field with PHR/SPHR a plus.

  • Minimum three to five years recruiting/talent acquisition experience within a large organization or staffing company.

  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems preferably iCIMS

  • General knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration

  • Ability to write effectively and work proficiently within MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Must have solid experience working within recruiting and social media sites to source candidates on a broad level.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and positive communications with all team members

  • Must be able to effectively communicate/present information to management, candidates and employee groups
