Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Business Systems Manager - JD Edwards. This position will reside at the corporate office in Irving, Texas.

The Business Systems Manager will manage JD Edwards with a Payroll IT platform for a multi-billion dollar business. The position is responsible for the overall application design, planning, upgrade, and support of the JD Edwards system. This position will also be responsible for other applications, including GetPaid, Neocase HR, SiteMinder SSO and others.

A proven record of leadership and software knowledge is essential to ensure success in this position. The successful candidate will foster a strong team environment and possess excellent communication skills to effectively work in a fast paced and dynamic workplace.

  • Manage the JD Edwards team to ensure a strong team environment that proactively supports all aspects of the JD Edwards Enterprise One 9.0 installation

  • Manage all aspects of production and project support as it relates to JD Edwards

  • Ensure the application meets business requirements

  • Fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve system issues

  • Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and develop and execute improvement initiatives and strategic roadmaps

  • Form strong partnerships with key business users/management

  • Actively engage business management on a regular basis to ensure business needs are met

  • Plan and budget initiatives, resources, and dollars on a yearly basis and ensure adherence to plan and budget, while adjusting according to the changing business needs

  • Develop and manage detailed individual development plans for all team members

  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices; seek out opportunities to leverage application usage best practices

  • Prioritize all group activities

  • Ensure system health by recommending, planning, and implementing patches, system improvements, and upgrades

  • Maintain best practices according to ITIL and Oracle standards

  • Conduct research and provide recommendations and guidance on emerging application technologies

  • Ensure that system documentation is organized and kept current.

  • Works with and develops key relationships with the business units to identify opportunities, establish a business case and implement appropriate improvements.

  • Directs and manages team members in daily activities and annual goals.

  • Develops, manages, and maintains relationships with vendors and consultants to address support and project activities.

  • Ensures team develops documentation and training programs to assist in meeting business needs.

  • Leads efforts to design, develop and implement completed projects for IT initiatives and internal/external customer use, and communicates effectively with other Lehigh Hanson teams during the SDLC .


  • BS in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Minimum of seven years of management experience within JD Edwards and HRIS.

  • Proficient use of MS Office, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills, team leader/player, task management skills, project coordination/planning, negotiation/integration skills.

  • Proven experience in systems analysis, training and documentation.

  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions

  • Good understanding of manufacturing business processes

  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Good customer facing skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to determine root cause of complex problems

  • Ability to work on multiple Oracle assignments (Production support, enhancements, and Projects)

  • Ability to prioritize work of multiple individuals in a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • Desire to work in a fast paced dynamic environment
